I have a new talk. And, I am really AMPed up about it.
Very. Uncharacteristically. Excited.
Several months back I wrote a post about our “Evolving Blueprint”. Keyhubs has evolved – quite a bit – since we first launched as a hobby in 2007 and then as a real business in 2009.
We’re coming up on 7 years and things have progressed. In the beginning, everything was about the business. My blog, my talks…everything.
But things have branched out. We’re still doing much of what we did in the early days…and we are doing a lot more:
– Espousing the merits of purpose-driven entrepreneurship
– Evangelizing the power of connecting with human beings
– Celebrating the joy of authentic content creation and sharing
– And more
So for the last six months and especially since my post about our Evolving Blueprint, there was an unsettling feeling growing inside me. This feeling of “How do we bring it all together?” How do these different threads weave together into some semblance of a whole? I wasn’t sure.
Until this April.
I had an epiphany – a vision. As if something or someone spoke to me and said, “Do this”.
All of sudden, it all made sense. The journey, the evolution – The Next Frontier.
In a flash, it became clearer than ever how all these seemingly disparate pieces, which all meant so much to me, were going to fit together in one, beautiful, unified story.
I began weaving it together in my mind. I wrote down ideas and notes and began sketching what this new story was going to be and how I was going to tell it.
I was a bit nervous and scared because I was going into unchartered territory. I was going to discuss things that were unconventional in business settings. I was going out on new and delicate limbs that had branched unexpectedly over the past seven years.
And, when I did, something extraordinary happened.
People responded.
I gave my first “new” talk in May and stayed up late the night before putting the finishing touches on my slides. I went into the meeting hall feeling energized, ready and also a little nervous.
What came out the other side was remarkable. People responded to this new talk in ways I have never experienced.
“You made me want to cry”
“You made a difference in people’s lives today”
“This should be a TED talk – you’ve turned a corner”
(Forgive me for all the horn-tooting – as you can see I am pretty excited about this talk, yet I cannot take credit – the inspiration and clarity came from the Great Beyond.)
It felt so good. Not only to get such positive, inspiring feedback, but to deliver a talk from the depths of my heart. To bring it all together and to bring it home.
What is different about this talk from my usual ones is the emphasis on the power of connection. Not just in the workplace, but in our communities, professional circles and within. There is a pattern that is playing out in organizations and societies, which is very reflective of an individual, internal pattern – one that holds the key, I believe, to influence, career success and personal fulfillment.
Last week, I spoke at Spark the Change in Toronto. When they invited me several months ago, I intended on giving them my usual, traditional Keyhubs talk. Not now. The new talk is all I can give in large audiences looking for more than just a commercial plug. And I did. And it felt amazing. The feedback has been encouraging…
What’s more is my parents live in Toronto and they were there to see it along with one of my dearest cousins!!
It doesn’t get any better than that, right?
Well, maybe you or someone you know is looking for new, interesting speakers – I am ready and willing to take this talk anywhere and everywhere.
It’s time to take this show on the road. It is time to step out into the next frontier.
Thank you for joining me.

Amazing… I’m have an incling that you have, a heavy visualization of our connections; a sort of deep bath tub of many nodes and strands that echo physiology and neurological matrices in our brain, etc. Or is that not it at all?… I suppose we’ll have to invite you to get that in the noggen:) ….and that sounds delightful to me. Your an amazing soul and pragmaticist.. If that’s a word. I’d love to talk soon, had ideas that may relate partially. Thanks V! Mg
